Supporting vital Bosque de las Madres project in Costa Rica

We believe great landscapes should connect people to nature - and protecting that nature is just as important.

That’s why we’re proud to support Rainforest Concern’s Bosque de las Madres project in Costa Rica with a donation towards safeguarding its 1,000-hectare biodiversity corridor, currently under threat of deforestation for cattle ranching. Our donation will help fund the reforestation of former pastureland, strengthening this vital ecological link between Costa Rica’s highest mountain and the lowland Caribbean forests.

Rainforest Concern is a UK charity that has been preserving natural habitats and biodiversity for over 31 years, helping protect more than five million acres of rainforest in Latin America, India, and Romania.

Working closely with local communities, the charity’s work includes:

  • Creating protected rainforest corridors in Ecuador, Costa Rica, and Peru.
  • Supporting rural women in India to rewild former tea plantations.
  • Partnering with remote Amazonian communities in Brazil.
  • Running sloth, jaguar, and turtle conservation programmes in Costa Rica.

The Bosque de las Madres Ecological Corridor provides a safe migratory route for endangered wildlife — including tapirs, parrots, and rare cats such as jaguars, pumas, ocelots, jaguarundis, and margays — allowing them to roam freely between protected areas.

As a practice rooted in ecological design, we’re honoured to back a fellow Bath-based, global organisation whose mission to preserve biodiversity so closely aligns with our own.
