Fan Lei HelenBA
Helen mainly focused on water quality and resource management in her Bachelor training of Environmental Engineering, discovering her passion for Landscape Architecture after experience working on the design, research and social development of projects early in her career. She is strongly motivated and inspired by transitioning spaces for social and environmental benefits. She strives to create designs that serve people’s needs and empower their potential.
Helen is particularly passionate about describing a place not only with its physical characteristics, but also larger ideas of cultural context, geological stories and evolving nature which are the elements imbuing the site with meaning, identity and possibilities. With most of her project work she loves to get started by reading a poem or a ‘scientific’ report specific to the place, so that she feels grounded in the place.
