Runnymede Civic Council Offices

Grant Associates were asked to create the landscape environment for the new civic offices of Runnymede Borough Council. The aim was to produce a physical and visual setting for the new buildings that reflected their context and civic function. This also presented an opportunity to bring a strong individual identity to this part of Addlestone and to provide a scheme of distinction that contributed to the quality and diversity of the neighbourhood.

The project is focused on the arrival space adjacent to the building entrance. Pedestrian access is improved and the streetscape enhanced. A distinctive and simple landscape geometry comprising linear components helps to stitch the new building into the existing urban fabric. A series of outdoor spaces form an attractive outlook when viewed from within the building and are designed to be enjoyed by staff and, in part, by the general public.
