Northshore

The key objective at North Shore has been to develop an extension to the town centre that engages with the town’s great asset – the river.

This mixed-use development is located just to the east of Stockton town centre. The public realm has been developed to draw references from the existing hierarchy of streets and spaces within the town, while at the same time introducing a distinct and contemporary riverside edge that defines the new identity of North Shore.

Landscape features include: a new waterside promenade with marina; bathing decks and floating islands; urban and ecological parks or ‘slipways’ between the development plateau and the river; a new civic square that acts as the eastern threshold into Stockton; attenuation pools and gardens; and a new public square that addresses the new pedestrian bridge and proposed university campus.
