Woodland Trust

Grant Associates was commissioned to develop the landscape design of the Woodland Trust Headquarters in tandem with the building’s architecture.  Our brief was to create a stimulating and functional landscape setting that would be used and valued by all employees of the Woodland Trust.

Design details:

  • A central lush garden provides a flexible space for meetings, lunches or quiet contemplation
  • The garden also offers an important connection between the workplace and the natural environment, with views into it from work stations and adjacent meeting rooms
  • A fern form unfurls from the central garden, wrapping the building in a landscape that features textures, colours and scents of native woodland
  • Native plant species in appropriate mixes and suitable wildlife hibernacula increase the ecological value of the site, reflecting the core values of the Woodland Trust
