Newlands Common set out a major new mixed-use development on the outskirts of Waterlooville in Hampshire. The masterplan aims to produce a high-quality, sustainable community of around 1,550 homes and up to 100,000 square metres of commercial space as well as areas for community facilities such as local shops, a medical centre, a café and a primary school.

- High priority given to the quality of the built environment and public realm, to establish a unique identity which enhances the existing landscape character of the site
- Range of public open spaces including a large common, village green and neighbourhood squares, offering attractive recreational, play and social spaces
- A mosaic of different habitats, including integrated sustainable urban drainage system (SUDS) elements such as swales and retention basins
