Mottisfont Abbey

Grant Associates was commissioned to produce the landscape masterplan and detailed design for new visitor facilities at the National Trust’s Mottisfont Abbey in Hampshire.

Our masterplan strategy focused upon the aspirations of the National Trust over the next ten years, including bringing the Estate to life, ‘Realising the Potential’ of the Estate and creating an exemplary project for the National Trust’s ‘Going Local’ strategy.

Design details:

  • A scheme which engages with the landscape context, the water courses of Mottisfont and the surrounding water meadows
  • Emphasis on the relationship between internal and external spaces through permeability and connectivity
