Joint design with Thomas Matthews of four Environmental Information Points on the Greenwich Peninsula as part of the Millennium Exhibition.
Each installation is brightly coloured and constructed in vitreous enamel for a durable and easy to maintain finish. Each responds to a different aspect of the ecology and history of the River Thames.
- A 10m high tidal totem expresses the diversity of life found within the river and the tidal variations in its height
- A timeline, 20m long, establishes the history of the river and the associations of nature and human intervention over 10,000 years
- Other information points describe the ecology of the river and inland habitats demonstrating how recent work has greatly improved the ecological potential of the area
