Gardens by the Bay – Branding

Innovative branding and signage

At Bay South, Gardens by the Bay, we worked closely with Thomas Matthews graphic designers to develop a site wide colour, signage and wayfinding strategy.  The strategy uses the colours of the Mangosteen fruit as the basis for the palette, including a dark purple as the principal unifying colour highlighted by the contrasting greens, oranges and whites. In addition, the Theme Gardens are defined by colours associated with the cultures of Singapore and the colours of the rainforest.  The rich claret of the Supertrees and the bright red of the dragonfly bridge add to this overall colour composition.

In addition to the colour palette, a branding pattern has been developed inspired by the flora and fauna of Singapore. This has been used throughout the project often as a laser cut pattern reflecting the local tradition of papercut designs.
