Grant Associates is working closely with Machado and Silvetti Associates and Buro Happold on the masterplan for Kuala Lumpur’s new international financial district known as the Tun Razak Exchange (TRX).

The vision for this 30 Hectare site in downtown Kuala Lumpur is for a highly functioning, innovative, and dynamic urban district that will establish TRX as a financial centre of choice. The development will form the new apex to the Golden Triangle in the city, currently anchored by KLCC to the north and KL Sentral to the west. The masterplan sets out a sustainable and modern TRX which seeks the highest level of international design and progressive planning, including industry-leading sustainability for buildings and infrastructure, a pedestrian-friendly and green public realm, seamless links to public transportation, and guidelines for architecture and the public realm of high international standards.

The TRX masterplan will celebrate the cultural richness of Kuala Lumpur and reflect its contemporary character. It will create vibrant, mixed-use streets with a diversity of architecture and public space. The proposed city park at the heart of the scheme will play an important part in making TRX the greenest district in Kuala Lumpur. The roof gardens will provide green amenities for the office workers, hotel guests and residents and provide stunning views into the city and serve as an incubator and “urban living machine” for the development.

TRX will be the ultimate outdoor destination in Kuala Lumpur, with a selection of event spaces and arenas to meet the civic and community needs of the city 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
